Use of Hawiflex® plates with perforated metal inlay in a cullet chute

1. Mar 2022

In the production of float glass, the smooth flow of material transport is one of the top priorities and presents new tasks for the maintenance staff every day. Our Hawiflex® panels with perforated metal inlay are specially installed in cullet chutes with the aim of reducing regular repair work in areas that involve a lot of effort.

Due to the cast-in perforated plate insert, the plate is very well suited for flat surfaces and thus also simplifies the lining with several plate pieces. The number of screws can be reduced compared to panels without metal reinforcement.

Our stock plates with standard dimension of 2x1m can be cut to size, for example, with guillotine shears or a jigsaw on site.

Significant improvements can be achieved without additional effort. In the example below, a steel plate wear liner could only last about 1 year. Our Hawiflex® panels have now been installed for 4 years and do not yet require replacement, yet.

We are also happy to offer you alternative fastening methods. Another variant is the use of weldable plates.
